Obituary of Paul Daniel Bradley

Paul Daniel Bradley, of North Branford, peacefully passed away at CT Veterans Hospital, West Haven, on September 26, 2014. Paul was the son of George F. and Marion (Doody) Bradley. He is preceded in death by parents and brother, Dr. Martin Bradley. Paul is survived by his wife, Deborah (Knowlton) Bradley, son, Daniel Bradley (Carolyn) of North Branford, grandson, Daniel Martin Bradley, and two brothers: George Bradley (Patrice), Kevin Bradley (Pamela) and a sister-in-law, Michelle Bradley. Paul was employed as an investigator in the insurance industry for a number of years. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam conflict. In addition he had served over the years on several boards and committees, in part: the Board of Supervisors New haven County Soils and Water District, North Branford Zoning Board of Appeals, Democratic Town Committee as both a member and two terms as Chairman, as well as working on a number of political campaigns both state and federal over the last 30 years. Paul was a member of Totoket Grange #83 until is disbanded then became a member of North Haven # 35, with membership in New Haven County Grange, as well as a seventh degree member of National Grange. Paul had a passion for Old English Sheepdogs and had a number over the years all were rescues as he felt that was important that they be cared for. Those who knew Paul would agree both his wry sense of humor and that he traveled though life with a diverse and eclectic collection of friends and acquaintances. He was always willing to help anyone that needed a hand, but never suffered fools gladly.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 4pm – 8pm at Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, CT. Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 2, at 11:00 in Trinity Episcopal Church, 1109 Main St, Branford, CT. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to Atwater Memorial Library, 1720 Foxon Rd, North Branford, CT, 06471 of to the Old English Sheepdog Rescue Inc., 49 Stone Hedge, Lincoln, MA., 01773
