Obituary of Louis Mirabella

Louis F. Mirabella Sr. 87 (NHFD ret.) of Branford passed away June 10, 2014. He was born June 21, 1926 in New Haven to Stephen and Margaret (Cappella) Mirabella. He is preceded in death by parents, his loving wife, Rosemary (DeFelicie) and beloved daughter, Lois Mirabella. Louis is survived by three children; Linda Mirabella (Paul Wharton) of Branford, Louis Mirabella Jr. (Denise) of AZ, John Mirabella (Maureen) of PA, six cherished grandchildren; Alex, Kathryn, Megan, Connor, Declan and Erin Shea Mirabella. Louis is also survived by brothers, Francis Mirabella (Mary) of FL, Stephen Mirabella (Valerie) of N.Branford and a sister, Marjorie Hoffman of East Haven.
Louis was a US Army veteran of World War II and served his community as a member of the New Haven Fire Department retiring as a Lieutenant. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. His family and friends meant the world to him and he was always ready to lend a helping hand, whatever the request. He will be deeply missed by all.
Family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of Funeral Mass at 11 AM on Monday, June 23, 2014 in St. Mary Church, 731 Main Street, Branford. Committal to follow at East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven with military honors. Funeral service is in the care of Clancy Funeral Home, East Haven. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to American Diabetes Assoc., PO Box 11454, Alexandria VA 22312 in memory of Louis Mirabella.
