BOB NORMAN REMEMBERED:
Thousands of people will come in and out of your life, good ones and not so good ones.
And if you are really lucky you might be blessed by a Bob Norman. Connie and I were.
He wore lots of titles in his career in broadcasting on radio, TV and in politics.
Among other things, Bob was a radio newscaster, dee jay, TV reporter, TV Anchor and newsroom manager.
He later added Mayor of East Haven, and his work at the Statehouse to his resume.
He was also my best friend during the time I was honored to work with him at channel 8.
Bob took friendship seriously and stood by me during some extremely difficult times.
I always thought of Bob as the big brother I never had.
I have an image of Bob with his trusty Scotch on the rocks sitting at a small table in heaven with Mike Burke, Jerry Marsh, John Mongillo Senior, and some other channel 8 alumni.
Rest in peace Bob. Connie and I will speak often of you and Donna and the kids.
And I guarantee we will smile a lot every time we do.
Don & Connie Bradley

I was 7 yrs old, first meeting Mr. Norman as a neighbor and the dad of Bobby & Beth Norman when your family lived in Guilford on Boston St. My memory was of a nice man for being a local celebrity. Many of us kids in the neighborhood also saw him at wnhc when appearing on the popular kid show, "Admiral Jack" . We all though Bobby & Beth were real lucky kids. Your fathers career has followed by many years. It is not surprising Bobby is a police officer protects our town of Guilford with this same attributes.
With sincere sympathy.

Bob,
RIP, you were a great man and I am glad to have gotten the chance to meet and to know you. To bob's Family, Please take comfort in knowing that Bob was a great and talented person. I remember working during one of the big storms in East Haven while Bob was Mayor (1989?) and he handled that better than anyone who ever ran that town both before and after. He was on top of everything. I can't tell you how much he did for both the town as well as the state in the positions he held. He will truly be missed and will always be remembered.
