In Cromwell,May 3,2012,after a long illness,Michael J. Hanrahan Jr.,73,formerly of Westbrook,CT. Husband of the late Alexia Wood Hanrahan. Survived by his two sisters Marguerite(Thomas)Scecina of Guilford and Anne(Raymond)Hetherington of North Branford. He also leaves his eight loving nieces and nephews,eleven great nieces and great nephews,many cousins and his loving friend Joann Blair, Michael was born July18,1938 in New Haven,son of the late Michael J.and Frances Courtney Hanrahan and was a graduate of Quinnipiac University where he played on the golf team. He was an encyclopedia of sports and a devoted Mets fan. A salesman for most of his life,he enjoyed interacting with people.
Funeral from the Clancy Funeral Home,43 Kirkham Ave., Monday morning at 11:00. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Augustine Church,North Branford at 11:30. Interment will be private. Friends may call Monday morning,prior to the Mass from 10:00-11:00.In lieu of flowers,memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Assoc., 2911 Dixwell Ave., Hamden,CT 06518
