Schmidt,Fred C. born June 11,1917 passed away Aug.10,2011 in Clearwater,FL. A resident of Largo,FL for over thirty years, he lived in East Haven,CT for forty years while he workede at Olin Corp ( Winchester Repeating Arms) in New Haven. Preceded in death by his wives, Ragnhild "Pat" Schmidt and Marie L. Schmidt and brothers Roy Schmidt of Milford and George Schmidt of New Haven. He is survived by his children Barbara Gelo (Don) and David Schmidt (Janice), his step children Robert Kramer and Linda Kramer, four grandchildren, four step grandchildren, a brother Horace Smith of AZ and a sister Lois Scherrer of NJ.
Memorial service will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 in The Old Stone Church, East Haven. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405. Arrangements with the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven.
