At her home,June7,2011,Joan Macdougall Rogers,81,of East Haven. Wife of the late Albert Rogers. Mother of Priscilla Pappacoda and husband Louis of East Haven, John A. Rogers and wife Tracey of North Haven and Greg Rogers and wife Janice of Wallingford. Grandmother of Jaclyn Pappacoda, Jessica Rogers, John Pappacoda, Michael Rogers, Albert Rogers, Joseph Pappacoda. Step Grandmother of William Buffum and wife Serena and April Sellen. Step Great grandmother of Brian, A.J. and Christian. Sister of Jacqueline Stannard of Durham and the late Priscilla M. Carr. Born May 5,1930 in Boston, MA, a daughter of the late John S. and Helen Belanger Macdougall, she was a graduate of East Haven High School and had worked for many years at Yale University as a manager in the mortgage Dept. She had also worked for the American Red Cross. For over sixty years she was an active and dedicated member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Daughters of the Nile. She was also a member of St. Andrews Methodist Church. A caring and generous person, she loved the simple things in life such as spending time at the Hagaman Memorial Library in East Haven. Funeral service will be private. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions are requested to be made to the Masonic Care Foundation, 22 Masonic Dr., Wallingford, CT 06492.
